Default 1990 Jeep Laredo problems

this is my first Jeep, i traded a 97 Chevy 3 /4 ton 4wd for it. the headlights work, blinkers do not, dash and interior light's aren't working. windshield wipers aren't working. idles really low, i see the screw to adjust the idle but don't know if it's an Allen, star or what it is. any help would be greatly appreciated

If you're referencing a 4.0L engine...

With respect to what you're describing as an idle screw, I think you're looking at the throttle plate stop. It was set when the unit was built, and is not meant to be adjusted. There is also another adjustment on the throttle body for your base idle air mixture, but again, it isn't for field adjustment. Those of us who know these computers well, know that that isn't your problem. Renix-made ECUs control the idle, as do most later bodies, via the idle air control motor that is on the right-front side. And, the ECU relies on multiple inputs to adjust the idle. Let's start with what are you considering a low idle? It would help to know if you have a manual or automatic, and if automatic, in park, drive, etc.?

Obviously, you have electrical issues with some of your electrical items not working. Have you looked at your grounds, fuses, fusible links, and electrical connectors to start with?

The ECU controls the idle speed. Do not mess with that screw as you can do more harm than good. Like said, check your grounds.
