1989 XJ fuel injector
I am resurrecting a 1989 Cherokee XJ, I have just replaced all the rings on all the injectors = 1 new OEM injector. two weeks later the #2 injector is leaking at the top where the electrical clips on. I can stop the leak by pressing on it but want to replace the injector. Can I replace JUST the one with with a borg warner... http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2521&ppt=C0024 ...all set to original specs? I know I will be pulling the rail 4 more times eventually but for the sake of my pocket book one at a time for now.

http://mikestrawbridge.com/blog/2010...uel-injectors/ there is my answer, hes running just one Borg on the looks like #3 . I didn't need to completely remove the rail on the 89 to get to the #2. I might be a woman, but sometimes small hands work better. Also I saw a write up here on disconnecting the throttle, cable do not just pry it off, it turns up then slips right off.

Last century, working on my Jeep for the PO I ran into the same problem. One was leaking, worked on it, then more leaked. Now I know those stock injectors are crap, and a fire hazard. There are a number of improved, "plug and play" 4 HOLE injectors with the correct length, the EV-1 connector, and the little slot for the clip-nut that holds them on the rail. I gather the stock are 18.6 lb/hr flow rate, with 16 Ohms resistance in their coil.
You have a number of options..."703's" are popular. 19# "Ford Yellows..", also. (might be some "yellows. are Bosch as well)

Well that opened a can of beans, yes 18.6 lb/hr flow rate, with 16 Ohms resistance. TY for the ability to make sure O'reilly got this right. { they hardly ever do} http://www.polog40.co.uk/article_injector_table.php

Engine: 4.0L upgraded charging system & blue top, flowmaster 44, hi flow cat and two core rad.
My xj had the leaking injector problem four times, after the fourth started leaking I decided it was time to upgrade I went with 746s those shouldn't have that leaking problem because their one piece. I also noticed a little more power and smoother idle. The swap cost me just a little more than one new injector and that was with the parts to freshen the injectors.

If you have had one leaking and then another change them all, have dealt with this myself. changing to the #703 injectors or staying stock just get the old ones out of there. If you're comfortable with JYs' you can get some fairly fresh injectors for about 15$ each(or less). Just remember to get them off the right years 87-90. The four hole that matches up to spec come off of Dodge neons and caravans.

Nice ride Illuminator I like the choice of color LEDs on the dash mod. I have well over 2K into this within a month, so for now I have to settle on one more injector till the rest give up. @135k original miles I hope to have a lot of time to upgrade. I dont want a 4' lift prefer a 2" for tire clearance and a lower center of gravity. I am working towards an expedition truck. I live in the land of fishing and camping.

Contact Programbo here on CF. Get some good injecotors that are properly sized. Late model which don't leak externally like rEnix injectors. You don't want a Car-B-Que.

Done deal the injector is in and its running good till the next injector breaks down. The Bosch was nice solid steel looks like one part, not 3 parts pressed together. Lifetime guarantee so I will be searching for the exact same set for next week when I have to pull the rail again.
