1989 No Spark
Hey y'all,
I have a 1989 Cherokee that I just recently bought and after running pretty good for a couple of months now I'm having major issues. Long story short, I had a intake line fall off and sucked in about a quart of water and hydro locked the engine. I did all the necessary things to fix it, ie, pulled plugs cycled engine, new plugs and new oil and filter. I checked the comperssion on all the cylinder and thankfully I still have good compression. After that it was running rough, missing in 3rd gear and what not. I attibuted this to water in the injectors or maybe even water in the gas. But one day I was driving down a rough road headed home from Army training and it just DIED. No other way to put it. I was going fine and all of a sudden nothing. After much troubleshooting I have found that I have no spark. I've changed the crank sensor (twice, incase one was bad out of the box), the coil, ICM, distibutor including the cap and rotor, plug wires (just for good measure), and even the electonic control module, and . Nothing has fixed my issue of no spark. I've run out of ideas. The only one I have left is something, somewhere in the wiring harness. Please help!!!
