1989 jeep cherokee wont start

1989 jeep cherokee wont start
ok so i have a 1989 jeep cherokee
i just put in a fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, cps, new cap, rotor, coil, distributor.
It gets spark and the fuel pump is turning on and its getting fuel but it just wont start. i had to run a hard wire to the fuel pump to make it turn on, but it will just turn over and over but wont fire up. im kinda stumped because i have no idea what the problem is. Also when i ran the hard wire and touched it to the wire that it was suppose to go it would spark like its grounding out..
does anyone have any answers.????
