the fuel pump I did the check and watched the pressure fall to zero every time and if I pinch of the supply line it will hold pressure so the manual says check valve in the fuel pump. so that is next on the to do list.

 

Be careful. no sparks! Oh, the book is wrong, you don't need to drop the tank. You might pressure wash up in there first to cut down on what falls in your face changing it. Also be supper gentle extracting it. It's not at all hard to get the filter screen caught so it falls off inside.

If there is a locator tab/pin inside the tank it fits on before installing the ring, I never noticed it. Maybe why I'm always having issues with my gauge. Next time I have mine out I'll check carefully for any part of the pump/gauge assembly that might fit on something inside there.

Guess until you get to it you are stuck with the "poor man's prime". (turning the key on for a few seconds a couple times before starting it).

 

Yeah the other day when I was under it I thought that I could see the ring where the pump went into the tank. I also was wondering if I could turn on the switch and let the pump run to prime up the fuel rail .
