1989 cherokee hard time starting
Just recently bought myself a 1989 cherokee and since day one it has taken it a little while to start up. Once started though it will run just fine. It's been getting worse and worse since then so I read around a little bit and ended up ordering a crank position sensor from the jeep dealer. I also saw that it could be the cam sensor but jeep says that part is discontinued, does anyone know what my best option would be for replacing this if the crank sensor doesn't work. Does anyone have any other suggestions as a fix for my problem.
Thanks.
Thanks.

1989 xj is a Renix Version they take longer to start than 1991 and up because of its electronics system . When trying to start do not constantly turn key on and off this will flood cylinders. Just turn and hold until it starts. A full tune up should be in order seeing its new to you. Also doing Cruiser54s Renix tips will get it in tip top shape...http://cruiser54.com/

^^correct^^
And, the sensor in the distributor is not a cam sensor. Your Jeep will run with it unplugged.
Replace plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Use NGK ZF5RN plugs.
Make sure your intake manifold bolts are not loose and your engine vacuum harness is intact.
