1989 4.0L Laredo over-heating.

Cool^. I have a heavy steel, maybe it's the rear gate off a dump truck I chain up and drag to smooth about 1/3 mile of gravel drive here.
If mine overheated without the e-fan coming on I might try connecting the two wires to the temp sensor on the radiator. On mine the sensor plug is right there by the air cleaner, Yellow/Blk&Tan. If it were really over 220* and wasn't on, but comes on then, I'd suspect the temp sensor.

John, Good to hear its working out. It really sounds like you had air stuck in the system. The hole in the thermostat allows it to come out of the block and run through to the pressure bottle.
