1988 Jeep Cherokee Overheating
Alright, this is my first Jeep, I bought it for $800, because it had a overheating problem. So far I have successfully replaced the thermostat. When I removed the water pump the previous owner/ mechanic had glued the top bolt into the hole. With the water pump removed I could see that it appears they filed the rest of the bolt smooth with the block. I went to harbor freight to get drill bits and a 90 degree drill attachment to I could drill the bolt out.
Supposing everything works as planned, and the water pump doesn't have a slow leak, will my jeep stop over heating?
I haven't " burped the closed cooling system. At one point I put everything back together and tried to fill the the system with coolant, it overfilled at about 5 to 8 quarts. How do I burp the system.
This jeep is pretty rough, I just need to get it running cool so I could get it inspected.
