Default 1987 Xj PROBLEMS

Okay where to start off. i bought this $900 nightmare, its running super rich like 10 mpg has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, exhust manifold, new pipes, no cat, air filter. i bought it with a crack manifold from research that isnt a big suprise. so replaced it and still running rich so i put a new 02 sensor in thinking it burnt out from manifold leaks. Didnt sovle the problem so i tested all the injectors and they where all 15.6-15.3 ohms. Then tested the map sensor and when i did A & B termails it didnt read volts but i did A & C and got 5 volts. Then today i looked at the ERG Vavle and i got it upto normal temp and unpluged the vac line from the solenoid and the idle did not change any ideas?

I worked on my buddys 87 and it was a must to purchase the haynes manual. We would have gotten no where without it.

Heres what I did. I have an 87 as well and had the same problem. 25 years of build up causes all sorts of issues!

Put it into the vacuum line at the booster. Only need about half of a bottle. Tip the bottle with the vacuum line right at the mouth of the bottle. Let the vacuum slowlysuck the seafoam in fast enough to drop the idle. But not enough to stall the engine. Just before the halfbottle is consumed, let it suck enough to stall. Let it set a couple of minutes then restart. All sorts ofcrap and smoke will blow out of the exhaust. It's a good thing.
