Default 1987 XJ Front Windshield Wiper issues

Front wipers have recently stopped working. First thing I thought to check was the fuse. It's a 5.5A circuit breaker which I cannot seem to find a replacement for, but as a test I decided to bridge the gap with a piece of copper wire. Tried the wipers and no luck. Any ideas on what might be causing my issues. It does not work on any speed. Thanks in advance.

when I bought my Jeep the wiper motor was shot but i could still faintly hear the motor running which led me to believe something in the wiper trans. had gone. take the cover off and have someone or yourself listen to see if the motor can be faintly heard or not. my .02

I've got the same problem...I recently changed my light switch and I think after that my wipers stopped working...I've replaced the motor from the JY and had to go 50miles to get a 4.8 amp circuit breaker...from the dealer...that was a $23 failure...so far nothing has worked to get them working yet...I would really appreciate it, if you figure it out, if you could post the results. thanks. and I'll do the same. Other threads concerning this problem don't have an answer either.

have you tried running 12v to your wiper motor directly to make sure the motor is good? i just went through this on my bmw and it was the wiper motor. run some jumper wires and see if it runs that way, if it doesn't then you need to find a wiring diagram and your multimeter and start checking for breaks

Reach under the lower dash on the left side of the steering colum there is the intermitent puls module for the wipers, they go out and even come unplugged,I always grab the circuit breaker when I visit the local jy's,they rarley go out.
