It's crucial. There should be a braided strap from the back of the valve cover to the firewall. Another one of the "smart guys" posted he likes to add one from the dip-stick tube bolt to the shock mount. I have an added engine ground myself.
Yep, was cruiser l/ l/ I put mine from a small bolt on the front of the AC comp. to the rad. bracket.
And thank-you freegdr, didn't know the front provided suction. (thought it was just a filtered intake)

You better be referring to me. LOL. But, it's from the dipstick tube stud to a stud on the passenger inner fender BELOW the shock mount.

both hoses on the valve cover are necessary for proper engine function the rear is under vacuum at igle the front gets suction when crusing .Both are to relieve crankcase pressure

so i redid the valve cover gasket (again) i did it wrong the first time this time was right i hope anyway. yes the stap from the fire wall to the back stud is connected. as for the back crank breather. the gromit and part of the plastic tube is there. the tube broke. as for the front when i bought it was removed and replaced with some junk kandn breather.
i started to look around the engine some more. i didnt have time to clean anything lastnight so i will be getting around to that. i am pretty sure the TPS is one of the problems. but i also noticed a vaccum line broken that goes to the fire wall. i bleive it is the MAP sensor vaccum but im not entirely sure. alot of this stuff was from the previous owner neglacting upkeep (hate ppl like that)

The map sensor is that thing alone on the fire-wall, up high in the middle. It has one vac line that goes to the throttle body. My 90 has a vertical sort of oval there with two holes. The map line goes in the bottom one....

imagine that. hahahaha. ill fix the line and finish up the maintence on it. something else i noticed is it smokes from time to time. usually when its cold or when i just get on it a bit. doesnt seem like it burning oil although it was at one point in time except pretty sure it was from injectors being all messed up mixing fuel with oil. went to 730 injectors. the exhaust doesnt smell all strong like gas anymore. any way i was just thinking could the map be making it run super rich which would explain almost every problem iv had??
