So I'm looking at doing a front axle swap and I'm interested in a Wagneer Dana 44. I found one online that is off a 84. I talked to the guy who has it and he says it has a vaccum disconect comng out of the differential housing. I really don't want an axle with vaccum disconnect. I was wondering what years of the wagoneer don't have the vacuum disconnect?

 

for some reason I want to say late 80's. 87,88,89 something like that. google it and I'm sure you will find your answer

are you talking about a full size waganeer?

 

I know that 90 has a vacuum disco...

yea the full size. ok thanks guys, I'll keep looking for a late 80's model, hopefully I will find one.

 

If your expecting to find a drop in it wont happen, the full size is wider,diff is on the passenger side.

 

only wider by an inch or two. my front hp44 has been retubed to waggy length. just looking at it i cant tell the difference in width. also the diff is not the passenger side, its a driver side drop in the 80's

 

I thought they were all on passenger side,my bad.

 

atleast the 80's were not. they are a common xj front axle swap. naxja has a TON of good write ups about the swap

 

Since we're already on the topic of axles, which older or newer vieichles could I find a high pinion Dana 44 on? I know they came on some ford trucks but I'm not sure which ones?
