I may have a good deal on wheels and tires coming my way, but the rims are 9 inches wide. I only plan to run 31x10.50x15s so I'm not getting a super wide tire in the first place. Is a 9" wide wheel a dumb idea? I'm used to 8" wide wheels and don't know what to expect out of a 9" wide.

um they'll stick out a lil more but thats about it
depends on the bs of the rim and if you run spacers

 

I cannot answer you honestly as I am on a 15 X 8 also but I mean 3/4 of an inch will still be hanging off each side. I say go for it.

 

I agree backspacing is important here, I don't know what the wheels are yet. I'm not quite sure what is preferred with these since I need it spaced enough to clear the LCAs.

15 x 8's are 4.5 or less back spacing to clear 31's.

 

So I need 4.5" or less on 9" wide rims too.

I was wondering the same thing I have 15x9s an was wondering could I run a 31x10.5 as far as it fitting the rim
