Is your XJ a showpiece or a stump-humper? Tires? Wheels? Roof rack with lights? Too many possibilities...

depends on what you want to do. Big tires, there goes your $1000 right there. locker n lift $1000. basic maintance and oem replacement or up grade $600. pick n choosee what you want

Well, you have lift and wheels/tires. I'd suggest going with armor and recovery. Skid plates, winch bumper and winch.... ect.

From his intro thread it looks like he has a lift, bumpers, lights, CB radio and 31" tires

I would invest in a hitch winch plate and winch and put a hitch receiver port in the front bumper. Then run all the wiring for a front and rear winch.

OR.....

Some 33" tires.

^LOL I want one too!

If you wheel it I would start thinking about 33's/gears/lockers. i know its more then 1K but your not far from it either... (you could make 35's fit TOO!)

If thats to much right now I would do sliders (if you wheel in rocks/trees ect) and bracing. frame stiffeners, steering box ect.

Um, I don't think that's what a winch is for.
