I just bought this 99 xj sport. It has the i6, when i bought it the po took the check engine light out. I forgot to bring my scan tool so. I didn't check to see if the light came on before starting. Anyway I bought the truck, brought it home and I plugged the scanner in and bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 1 sensor 2 codes came up. I put the truck on the lift and the sensors looked original and with 195k i figured replace them. So i did and the bank 1 sensor 2 came back along with the bank 1 sensor 2 heater. I checked the fuse and it wasn't blown, I traced the wires back and found the wires were burned through on the tcase. So i cut and soldered them back together. I cleared the codes and drove it and they came back , cleared it again to see if i could get all the monitors to set besides o2s and heater to pass inspection. I replaced the bulb the Cel does not come on and the codes do come back. I have a 10 day temp and i cant figure out what else it could be. I will be looking on mitchell, But any help would be appreciated.

 

Do a search. There are write ups that cover what voltage (for the heater circuit) and which connection(s) should lead to grounds, etc. at the connector to the O2s.

 

I just inspected it, it passed with all monitors set. o2 heater and sensors set. I found another burned through spot on the rear wires i cut and ran new wires to the rear sensor. Shes good to go.
