I just rebuilt my 01 Cherokee sport motor.
Started fine once - then the crank position sensor failed. After troubleshooting I found the problem and replaced it (PITA).
Loose ground made so my code reader was dark - fixed that.
Now, engine runs fine but when I put it in gear (auto trans) - nothing.
Any help for what could be happening? All fuses are good and I can see no broken or loose wires. Is there a relay that could have given up or could this be the TCM? Is there a connection to the throttle body?
Please help as this is frustrating as hell.

The connection to the transmission is a mechanical one. Check the shift linkage from the shifter down to the transmission. The connection is on the drivers side of the trans. Also check that the torque converter bolts are attached to the flex plate. If the torque converter is not spinning the transmission will not go anywhere.
