00 xj oil pressure gone crazy

Question 00 xj oil pressure gone crazy

my sister owns a 2001 xj (2wd dd) her oil pressure goes to 40 at idle past 80 under acceleration and around 65 under a constant speed... trying to figure out what is wrong oil level seems fine... need any other info ask but i could use some help

It cost 15 bucks or so at your local part store. Its super easy, It just pull off the connection on the back and it unscrews. It is located right next to the oil filter. And it will fix your problem. They do that when they are getting worn out. I have had all of my jeeps do it. It will take all of 5 min to do.

And don't tighten it down too much. Hand tight, then half to one full turn. Too tight and it'll peg out at far right.
