00 xj bad miss or stumble at idle

Default 00 xj bad miss or stumble at idle

i have a 2000 jeep Cherokee and it has 176,000 miles on her never really had ant issues mechanically besides the CPS taking a poop on me but now I got a issue with a miss or stumble at idle the jeep always starts and runs perfect but when im at a stop light the idle studders and you can feel the jeep shaking I don't know where to start

Take your injectors off and give them a good cleaning.

okay ill try that the check engine light is on for a bad o2 sensor I wasn't sure if that would cause a miss at idle or not?

a bad o2 sensor can cause a lot of issues.. i would get that fixed and then see if your idle issue still exists..

you also have the year model that comes with a notorious bad cylinder head... the 0331

do a google search on that head... you will come up with a ton of information and things to check

this. if its not your upstream o2 sensor id be shocked. get a good OEM one, the cheapo's are prone to failure.. and do be wary of your engine temps. the 0331 has a weak spot between cyl. 3 and 4 that cracks when overheated..

Ok, well that's kind of important info that you left out there.

Yes, replace that. I like NGK o2 sensors.

An O2 sensor code does not automatically mean you replace the sensor. What is the exact code?

Yup. Gotta have the exact code; with OBD the devil is in the details.

Also, how many miles are on your spark plugs? Can't forget the basics....

could be coil pack. i had replaced 3 coil packs in my old 2001
