Is their a Feedback section???
Buying anything off the inter-webs is a crap shoot. I have been buying a lot of stuff lately and you just need to use common since. I was going to ask for this but glad to see its already being talked about.
Before I buy something from someone off forums of any kind, I always look at there history and how active they are on a site. if its some guy that's got 3 posts and just joined the chances are slim I am going to use them but someone that's on regularly and active the chances decrease that your going to be ripped off but there's always that chance.
Best thing I can say is if you buy something and everything goes great make sure to leave some feed back in the thread started for that item. its always good to see and its something that's still searchable. If something goes wrong get a Mod involved.
Just my 2 cents

I know IB is working on a new system for selling on the site. I think it will give us the ability to leave feedback for said item/s. In the current system I am not overly enthused about adding a feedback system ontop of posting ads in the forums. It's hard to link for sale posts to the feedback item in a logical and flowing manor.
So I am going to hold out on adding something until we get a new system in place for the classified ads.
I think the previous poster hit the nail on the head. Look at post count activity, view some of their posts and make enformed decision. If you have someone who has sold many items, has quite a few posts and has been on the site and active for a while chances are you won't get hosed. If I am looking at an item and the seller has been around for say 2 years, has 1200 posts, and is actively atleast weekly then I feel pretty comfy they aren't going to intentionally screw me. Not many folks are willing to ruin a rep over a couple hundred bucks but they are out there.
