Is there anyway we can get a sub-forum fro good or bad buyer/sellers. That way we as a forum are aware of these people. It can be just a sticky or two at the top of the parts for sell page. Overland gave me the idea.

I think that's a great idea. I think a sticky would be good but we need rules governing this. That way someone can't just label someone as a bad seller/buyer without legit proof. We'll discuss it and see what's the best way to handle this.

I thought some guidelines as well, which is why i posted asking before just starting a thread.

I'm dealing with a real POS and the Jeep community needs to know about him.

OKC... gonna PM you a link to the thread elsewhere so admin/mod have the story on this.

Hmmm I wonder if we should have a Reputation/Karma system like some other forums have.

I think the best way to govern it would be to contact a moderator with the issue and get the OK to post into the Bad Buyers/Sellers section. That way we can avoid someone posting in there just to flame someone or settle a personal vendetta.

If someone on this site wants to post a review of a retailer that's fine but we as a site are not going to get into labeling people good or bad. Doing so would put us at a legal risk.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea... I'm just saying we would put our selves as risk to get sued which is not fun.

So if I sell someone something and they screw me out of money and I post up the whole story so others know not to sell to said person, I can't do that? Now that sucks...So much for community.. If anyone has an issue with a particular person just PM me or another mod and we will make sure said user doesn't come to this forum at all to the best of our ability.

No, that's not what I said at all. I said we as a site are not going to label people a bad vendor. So, CherokeeForum.com is not going to have an official list of bad vendors. You can write up whatever you like on your own.

No, maybe I wasn't clear. I was more or less responding to TrueBlueXJs post about getting approval and then posting the review. I don't want any part of it. If you want to post a review that's fine, but your more or less on your own after that. It's not something people like to talk about but if you post slander about a company that isn't true that company can go after you. That probably wont happen to an individual but they probably would come after us if we sponsored or approved the post.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Well then forget what I said. I understand the liability there, so no problemo. If I had issues with a vendor, it would be best to settle those issues with the vendor. Of course, negative feedback, if warranted, should be shared IMO. As far as individual sellers, it's not a personal attack until their name is used, but their screen name can be slandered to no end and their IP address blocked from any further forum use. When their personal information is shared, i.e. some of the most famous posts on Pirate, it can get a little ugly.
