Has anybody been to Turkey bay (land between the lakes) in western ky? I'm thinking about going there next year. I kinda just want to know how the trails are and if my stock xj has any business being there.

If you are going next year you have time to save for a lift and tires

We went yesterday and you could probably stick to the main trails, but I'd stay outta the blue diamond trails. I think even orange you might have some issues.

Ok I think I will invest in a lift and tires before I go. Is there a camp ground out there or do you just pitch a tent anywhere for the night? I'm trying to figure out what all I should take with me when I go

I swung by the ORV park last week... haven't ever wheeled it. I'm new to the area and still trying to wrap my head around the concept of a ORV park. Anyhow it's $20 for a 3 day pass or $75 for a yearly pass.. At the entrance there was a FS employee in a lil shack and he can hand you a map at no charge. There is camp sites in the parking lot at the park right when you pull in... and you HAVE to camp there... you cannot camp on the trails.

However... for $7 you can purchase a "back country camping pass"... and when your done wheeling you can hit the rd and drive a few miles away from the park and camp anywhere along the FD(forest service rds that HAVE signs/numbers. You just pull off the rd and hike in 200ft and setup camp.

The only reason I told ya this, is because it's what I'd do... I hate parking lot camping, and I hate camping right next to people... Hate waking up at 6am to kids, or their bikes lol. If you're unclear still on what I said just stop in at one of the welcome centers... everyone I spoke with was very kind and helpful.
