Sevenmile Rim - Moab
Warning Tons of pics... if you have slow internet click off now lol Sunday we decided we would give Sevenmile Rim a try. According to Well's book it’s considered difficult but then again so is Fins and Things so we figured we would be fine. There are a couple decent sized ledges on the trail but nothing a stock Cherokee can't handle. We had no trouble at all and ended up having a blast. It was supposed to be sunny but ended up cloudy. Luckily we avoided the heavy rain that moved in later that night.
The Start
The trail climbs quickly up onto the rim then levels out some… Going up and down smaller ledges.
Once you continue along the top for a while you come to the edge of the rim and get the first of many great views out over the valley.
This was the only trail I had done so far that had drive up views
Climbing some smaller ledges and testing the flex on a small crack
We took a short side trip to Uranium Arch
A few shots of the arch
Another crack... I scraped some paint off my back bumper on this one

Random Shots
We followed the rim for the first half of the trail... a few more views
Monitor and Merrimack Buttes
This crack is a smaller version of The Golden Crack... it was 3 times deeper on the far side but I took the easier side. Stuffin those 31s, you can see I dented my left front fender a bit from the wheel rub lol
Pile O Rocks
In the next shot you can see where we came down from the rim in the left side of the pic
We continued on in between Monitor and Merrimack.
Climbing a decent sized ledge to go between the two... this was the only one the stock Cherokee bottomed out some on.
In front of Merrimack
Me in front of Monitor... good idea of size
Coming through the Squeeze
Going around Merrimack
Driving along a rock fin on the other side of Merrimack... pretty sweet spot

The Trail Ahead
They wrote about this section in Well's book being very steep and tippy. He described it as scary... I describe it as plain fun! I reminded me a lot of sections of Fins
I almost tried Wipe Out Hill but it was getting late and I didn’t want to have to winch out if I couldn’t make it... next time
Determination Towers
Random Cool Shot
The last tricky section
A few more shots of the towers
Looking back the way we came
We continued on down a sandy wash and hit one easy side trip that took us out near Tusher Tunnel. I had just popped it out of 4 low for the day and was met by one more ledge just big enough to have me put it back in lol
Another sweet day of wheelin... probably in the list of my favorite trails so far. I didn’t mean to inundate everyone with a huge amount of pics but when you have somebody that comes along with you and likes taking pictures then you end up with a bunch of cool shots. Time to work on the jeep this week and figure out where to go next.
