If you are going to go through the trouble of swaping a full rear, why not look for a Chrysler 8.25? They will also have the same gearing, but it is a much stronger axle. And fromt what I have seen, much easier to come accross.

Depending on what you are using your jeep for, however, I have a pair of axles that may interest you. But they are full-size jeep axles out of an early 80's wagoneer. Let me know

Nothing really. You might need the driveshaft from a 8.25 with your same drivetrain as they have a longer snout. But if you have a sye it'll bolt in no problem. Hook up brakes, bleed, done.

Agreed.

The shock mounts and spring mounts should be the same.... Its just the rear end of the DS that will need to be either replaced or a new DS to match the SYE will solve that too.

i have the shaft as well 30 bucks so your looking at an entire swap for 155

they are right just need the shaft any time i buy an xj i swap in an 8.25 and run 35's no problem

I have the matching frount axle for 125 as well if you wanted to be shure on the gears being the same then you would have extra axles to wheel with we all know about breaking an axle in the woods
