Hey guys and gals. Im new to forum and Im in need of a good running 4.0L for my wifes XJ. Her Jeep is a 2000 model so from what ive read 99-01 will work. Let me know what you got even if your a days drive away I need this yesterday. I would really like to hear it run in person or by video if possible. I can also buy a whole parts jeep as long as motor is good. Thanks!!

if your willing to make the drive I can hook you up with everything including the computer if you need it
For your info though 99's are not all compatible with 99 and newer. Halfway through the year they switched since things around. My motor is from a 99 but is distributor and not coils also the intake and exhaust are a bit different mine is a one piece exhaust manifold not a two piece like 2000-01.
So actually I just did opposite of selling my motor probably but hopefully it saves you aggregation and money.

In case you are interested the motor comes with intake, throttle body, manifold plugs wires distributor, neon injectors (7 months old), alternator (less then 6 months old)
Approx 116k no knock.
Needs exhaust manifold and a good flush. Like I said I got the computer too.
The motor I was asking $700. I haven't pulled the computer but can if you are interested. I'd ask $800 with comp.

Thanks for the offer but I think ill try to find one that I didn't have to switch a bunch of stuff around to make it work.

Its a drive but I have a full parts jeep availible. Im in south east MI. The motor is a 2001 4.0 its has 140k and ran fine when I pulled the trans. Due to no trans it won't run right now although I think I can bypass that and start it for you. I can pull the motor for you if you want.







Any reasonable offer will be accepted. I will be sending it to scrap at the end of this month.

I don't mean to be rude at all but you will find a motor much faster if you are proactive and search Craigslist and such rather than wait for the seller to come to you.

Yep I search craigslist at least twice a day, as well as a wanted ad on there. So I am doing everything but going door to door.

Well I take back what I said then. Where are you located? Around here these motors are plentiful that's why I ask.

Im in Abingdon VA. I can find a pre 99 easy there everywhere but of course the one I need is not.
