My ECM died (caps shorted out - can’t repair). Bought a replacement from flagshipOne, it doesn’t work…
Local junk yards are a bust.
Local dealers can’t work on anything pre-2000.

Thanks, in advance! Much appreciated.

Capacitors not replaceable ? I'd get a second or third pinion.
There's a couple places in Florida that specialize in ECU rebuilds and been doing older ECU's like ours since forever.

As far as replacing the capacitors goes - I opened the enclosure and there was a lot of damage on the motherboard where the dielectric fluid (whatever they put in a capacitor) leaked out - I’m more worried about the circuit pathway not holding up to future use - otherwise, I think it’s great advice.
Thanks - I appreciate it!
I also recently tried getting an ECM from flagshipOne and it didnt work either. Took weeks to get it, had to send it back when it didn't work, then another month for them to tell me they couldn't source one. Just awful. Still need one for my 98.
