Did u go to all breeds jeep show in York yesterday? Cause I saw a PCM from a 98 with ax15 for sale. Sorry I know this isn't very helpful lol

I have a 492AD from a 99, 4.0, AW4.

I thought the Trans was controlled solely by the TCU, why does it matter?

It shouldn't matter?

People do manual tranny swaps all the time and never replace their computers.

It matters. I replaced my ECM when I did my 5-speed swap.

It'll run without it but you'll get a CEL.
