84-96 XJ
Looking for an 84-96 XJ with 4.0 i6 and auto trans. Highly prefer 2 door.
Cosmetics not a big issue as it'll be offroad quite a bit, but I do plan on using it as a daily driver as well.
Looking to spend no more than about $1000. I don't mind putting some light work into it, just no major motor or trans issues please.
I also have a 1990 Dodge Dakota longbed/single cab with 3.9 v6 with around 135xxx miles. New tires, new master cylinder, new fan clutch, no radio. 4x2. Good on gas, it's just too small for me (6'3" 300 lbs). Few dings/scratches but it's mechanically sound. Would also be willing to trade it for an XJ in similar condition.
As it sits as of 3/25/12

I have big plans for a 2 door XJ, not so much for the Dakota or I'd take the time to swap out the dash/steering column and seats to something more suitable.

I have a complete 1988 4 door Cherokee that runs and drives well. Has some dings in it, but I think it is what you are looking for. The velocity joints bad on the front drive shaft but other than that it’s in excellent mechanical shape. Let me know if you’re interested and I can send you a picture. My Zip code is 26260.
