I am getting a cylinder 3 misfire. Is replacing the injectors a good start? 2001 XJ Sport. Im in for the 784's if you think that will help. Thanks PM me please

 

I have 2001 XJ Sport. I am getting a Cylinder 3 misfire. I have been told that it is a "Heat Soak". Will doing a 784 upgrade help this? I am wanting to do it either way. PM with availability and I will go directly to your PayPal and order! Thanks

 

likely will not help. If your misfire is due to a malfunctioning or clogged injector it would though. I would try running some cleaner though first and test the injector operation with a noid light. Also check your spark plug condition and spark plug wiring.


Also as a matter of practice any time someone new comes in with a 2000/2001 XJ and engine issues - this is required reading for you

How do you compare these with the stock ones? They any bigger or is it just how the gas sprays thru it?

 

Basically just how the gas sprays out. 4 ports on the injector tip instead of 1 so the gas is delivered in a more atomized manner.

I have a set of injectors off of a 2004 aveo. Would you take these as a trade plus some boot for a set of 784's for a 99 4.0L xj?
