I'm selling my project car cause I'm going off to college and need to money for classes cause my jeep (my daily driver) isn't doing so good.
It runs and drives but won't pass inspection as is. I have just about everything needed to get it to pass
It has only had 4 owners (one of which being me), and was taken off the road by the third owner to start a baja bug conversion. The car passed inspected in 1999. It has around 150,00 original miles which is nothing considering it's from 1964. The rear bumper was cut off because as I said, the last owner started a baja bug conversion. It also has a baja bug wide eye body kit. I currently have the fenders off because I was going to sand and prime them for paint. It has baja bug headers that sound beast (you have to hear them for yourself!). It also has aftermarket suspension. I rebuilt the carb and put in a new fuel pump cause the old one was just starting to give out. The car is running. The floor pans are rusted to no end! They are in desperate need of replacing. It's easy to do and each floor pan (you only need a left and right one) is about $160. The doors open and close like it's brand new! The car's body is perfectly aligned. There is only one small (about the area of half a phone book) spot of rust on the drivers side above the wheel well. The glass is all original and in perfect condition. I have all kinds of parts for this car. I have EMPI bolt on valve covers, drum brake rebuild kit for all four wheels including shoes, an oem 70 transporter master cylinder, an extra carb, tons of different head and tail lights, engine cage, and boxes of other stuff. It is currently 6 volt but I have a lot of 12 volt stuff for a conversion. Honestly you would just have to see what I've got because it's way too much to list.
I love this bug. It tears me apart to sell it, but my daily driver is crapping out and I have to try to find some money to fix it. This thing is a perfect project car. It needs some time, money and an owner who's going to love it.
I'd like to get 3000 even though that barely is what the car and parts are worth, but it's gotta go.
I will consider any offers so please don't hesitate to contact me or if you have any questions.

I don't wanna deal with shipping a car.

Bumpin for ya.
I've always said, if I wasn't into Jeeps, I'd be into vdubs, mostly old Beetles. If I were closer and had the money/space, I'd so get this.
What motor is it, 1680 or 1776? Helping my buddy build a rail now, just got his motor built by a dub fanatic, fully built 1776, only thing stock is the cam, things got like 10.5:1 pistons, gonna be sick, ~100 hp in a car thats gonna weigh 900lbs total (with driver). Our goal is to pop wheelies.
GLWS man, awesome bug!

its like a lil baby 1200cc motor. It's the original engine. I never had the money to invest in it. I do web design and was in the process of signing two 2500 dollar contracts with sister companys and in literally weeks after I bought the bug the people bailed on me. I love that thing! The potential for it is soooo huge! I just can't afford it

You dont even need a roll cage
the body is so strong on those things that the top jst gets dented in a teeny bit and theyre so light that if it rolls over, you and three other guys is all it takes to get it right side up again

I thought it would be tight to do a vw trophy ruck and use like a toyota t100 frame and do independent rear and front suspension and an exo cage and do a twin turbo 1850cc fuel injected engine
