2002 Jeep Wrangler X 4X4
I am the original owner of this vehicle, and know it's entire history. Cosmetically, it's in pretty good shape. There are a few scratches and chips here and there, but nothing serious. Just what is to be expected from a 10 year old vehicle. Mechanically, the Jeep is in excellent condition, and I have performed all routine maintenance myself over the years. You'll probably not find one with a cleaner engine bay anywhere in town! I've been a car enthusiast my entire life, and a Jeep fan since I bought my first '78 CJ-5 from a retired Army Colonel 15 years ago. This is my third Jeep, and I keep buying them because they just keep going forever. It has been my daily driver for the last 10 years, and has never failed me or left me stranded. I would trust it to take me anywhere. It runs and drives like new and needs nothing except a new home and an owner who will love it as much as I have. I hate to sell this one (it was my first and only new car purchase) but I needed something a bit bigger for work and bought a Jeep Cherokee that I've been rebuilding.
Here are the vitals:

Here are the vitals:
2002 Jeep Wrangler X
- Originally purchased from Don Davis Jeep in Fort Worth.
- Rare Intense Blue Pearl paint. Not many of these around and an eye-catching color!
- Black soft top.
- Agate interior. Weird name, but it's a charcoal gray color.
- 4.0 liter 6-cylinder engine with 145,870 miles
- Arguably the best Jeep engine ever. Known to routinely go for 250K+ miles. Always used Castrol 10W-30 in winter and 10W-40 in summer.
- 5-speed Heavy Duty NV3550 manual transmission
- Terrific, smooth-shifting trans. Royal Purple fluid used.
- NP231 Transfer case.
- Dana 30 front axle - Open differential - 3.73 gears. Royal Purple fluid used.
- Dana 35C rear axle - TrakLok Limited Slip differential - 3.73 gears. Really helps on wet/icy roads. Royal Purple fluid used.
- I got the proper axle gears for larger tires (3.73) when I ordered it from the dealer. Many Wranglers have the standard 3.07 gears, which with larger tires will cause poor off-the-line performance, cause "lugging" and poor 5th gear performance, and place undo stress on the drive train. Trust me, it makes a big difference to have it done right. These gears will properly support up to 33" tires.
- Quadra-Coil suspension. No leaf springs like the older model Jeeps.
- BF Goodrich TA/KO All-Terrain 31x10.5 tires with 50% tread left.
- MB Motoring Razor wheels including matching spare, also with BFG 31x10.5 TA/KO
- Tags good till 8-12
- Inspection good till 12-12
- Intermittent Wipers
- Self-dimming interior lighting
- Fold-n-Tumble rear seat. It can also be easily removed.
- XO Vision CD/MP3/DVD/MP4 in-dash radio with 3.2" color screen.
- Rear sound bar.
- Polk DB651 6.5" speakers in sound bar.
- Polk DB401 4.0" speakers in dash.
- Crunch 400 watt amp hidden under center console.
- Polk Momo 8" sub in an ugly but durable and small black box behind rear seat. Stereo system sounds great!!
- Basic alarm system. Works, but needs new siren.
- Factory theft-deterrent transponder key system.
- Very cold A/C!
- Terrific heater! You will never be cold in the winter! You could roast a turkey in this thing!
- Bestop - Black - 3 years old. BRAND NEW (just out of the box) zip-in side and rear tinted windows. The tops on these Jeeps are great! Has never leaked a single drop of water, and they are a lot quieter than any of the ones prior to 1997. I also have the old zip-in windows. You can use them if you go off-roading to keep the new ones from getting scratched.
- Full steel doors with roll-up windows.
- Smittybilt front tube fenders in black textured finish. Really strong and great for extra clearance for larger tires without a lift.
- Smittybilt rear tube fender flares in black textured finish. Again, extra clearance for larger tires.
- Pro Comp rock crawler front bumper - black
- Olympic rear rock crawler bumper with integrated Class II receiver hitch - black textured finish.
- The bumpers, fenders, flares, and seat covers were all purchased in the last year and cost approx. $1500.
- Skyjacker shocks on all four corners
- Neoprene Two-Tone front and rear seat covers.
- Sylvania SilverStar headlights.
- As with any vehicle, there comes a time in it's life when things need to be replaced. I've already taken care of most of that for you!
- Parts replaced in the last year - over $1700 in service / maintenance in the last two years, along with the $1500 in new parts listed above. That's $3200 you'll not have to spend!!
- Front swaybar links $50
- Serpentine belt $63
- Battery $78
- Spark Plugs $20
- Air Filter $15
- Alternator $120
- Ignition Lock Cylinder. $172!!
- New side and rear windows $185
- New front windshield $225
- Valve Cover Gasket $40
- Camshaft Position Sensor $80
- Idle Air Control Motor $95
- Windshield Wipers $20
- Parts replaced in last two years
- New clutch at 138K Miles $480
- Brake pads $40
- Wheel alignment $70
