Question 1988 XJ What's it worth??????

Hello everyone. New to the site. Just got a cherokee 4d from south carolina and figured this would be the place to gauge it. Completly stock. Possibly "Olympic" model???? Right front fender dinged, but othewise spotless. And I mean SPOTLESS. 4.0L 5spd , interior is perfect. Even the rear liftgate struts are strong. The only problem is no title. trying to get one, but I'll sell it for parts for the right money. Thank you all in advance for your time.

How many miles and which t-case? What do you mean by "Olympic " model? Does it have a tow package?

Okay... first the bad news.. The 5-speed is the remarkably rotten Peugot( known less than affectionately by its nickname "Puke-out").. The Olympic edition was nothing more than some decals slapped on the rear side windows and possibly a color name. These olympic edition decals were slapped on seemingly everything in 1988. They offer no additional value whatsoever.

But pricing it is VERY difficult. The prices for parts vary pretty greatly by region of the country. Areas with rust problems generally have higher prices for rust prone parts than areas that don't get as much rust. But areas with severely depressed economies can sport much lower prices than areas with a good economy.

Pictures may help. In Georgia you can apply for a title and if it clears as not stolen or any outstanding leins then you can get a title.

Thank you all for your comments. I figured it was just an olympic sticker in the window. Real pretty gray metallic paint. I'm from western NY and know all about the salt. That's why I jumped on it. It's a South Carolina truck so the is absolutly no rust even thinking of starting. The yellow paint on the shocks is still all there. I'm not too familiar with Jeeps, but the transfer case shifter is the same as more recent "Selectrac" models. I will sell parts. All body parts solid exc. right front fender.

Who knows, maybe it's my new drag car. Put a hogged out Cummins Turbodiesel and put 4 slicks on it. LOL

FWIW, that tranny isn't as bad as people have claimed. Granted, it's first ratio isn't is low as the AX-15, and it's not as good as the AX-15, I agree with that completely!! It did, however, hold up quite well for me in a previous XJ.. I sold it with 196,000 miles on it, and the tranny was rock solid when I sold it!! Like I said before, it isn't near as good as the other tranny, but it isn't as bad as I've heard, just wanted to insert my $.02 worth. Later, guys!!

I would sell the whole thing if I can find someone to willing to pay what it's worth or we can talk about parts.

No electric seats. Only options are cruise, AC, alloy wheels and the roof rack.

Thread Belongs in the For Sale area.

If this Cherokee is that beautiful and in that good of shape I would hate to see it parted out for a few bucks.

It's all good I would just rather it be here if you are trying to sell it. Now if you are keeping it, bragging about it, fixing it and what not by all means use Cherokee Chat.
