I would recommend going into the frame rail with it. the 8 bolts for the factory will not be strong enough. Maybe for looks but not for recovery or a heavy hit offroad.

It looks good

just trying something like these:

it is just 2x4 box steel





and here is where you need to mount the holes

that is what i am fabbing up so the buyer will have to cut notches in the back to slide it into and there will be nuts welded in place for the bolts to go through the frame

ok got it fabbed up now it ties in the frame. solid as a rock ... with the extra work my new price is $340 + shipping and it will include grade 8 bolts for the frame support... thank you

everything welded in and ready it has a total of 12 bolts now and now is a "viable tow point"

So I had an excellent idea and thought you would be a great person to come to with it, if I brought you a light duty winch could you make a tire swing bumper with it built into it so all you can see from the outside of the jeep is the fairlead naturally I would want the reinforcements for mounting it and if you could a 2 in receiver would be nice

how much price difference would there be if instead of d-rings you did d-ring tabs?

I wouldn't drag a log on the ground with the d-rings that are on there, no offense. If it can't take the beating I'm going to throw at it than it's not worth my time/money.
