Bought the Jeep bone stock in 2014 with the intentions of building a mild wheeler/ daily driver. Never planned on going bigger than 3'' and 31s. Drove it 1300 miles to Moab in fall of 2015 and its all been downhill since then. Bought a welder and started building stuff, I do all the wrenching, fabrication/welding myself in my garage, no shop has ever laid hands on this thing. Its more of a trail rig now but I still daily it 90% of the time.

Here is my 01 Sport. Picked this up a little over a year ago for use as a daily while building it up into an overland/mild-moderate trail rig. It is mostly straight because it hasn't seen nearly enough trails, I'll be working on that this summer leading up to my honeymoon trip down the the KAT this fall. Otherwise, Indiana winters have taken their toll on the sheet metal.
Current build items include
2.5" lift
JK Rubi shocks
30x9.5x15 KOs
No lift shackle boxes
Front and rear rail stiffeners
Adj. short arms and track bar
Double shear track bar mount
ZJ steering
Trussed, skid'd, locked D30
Front under mount winch bumper
Rear tire carrier bumper
Short term build plans, most of the parts for which are already sitting in the garage.
Mid-section rail stiffeners
Floor pan replacement
2x6 rockers
Trans cooler
Dual battery

Might as well! My XJ is currently stock, but I'm stockpiling/bolting on parts to make it a long-lasting daily driver/exploration/road trip machine capable of "surviving" year round use in upstate New York. It's currently rust free with the exception of the suspension, which will soon be replaced to create a sort of factory skunk works Cherokee - think of it as a soon to be Up Country 2.0.
That means less than 3 inches of lift total, 30 inch tires, 3.73 gears, and lockers. Being so low, I'll want to ensure it's protected as I will take it off road. Ruff Stuff diff covers would be ideal (cough cough, hint hint).
As of this writing, I've undercoated the truck with Cosmoline (if it's good enough for the U.S. military, it's good enough for me), added in a class III hitch properly with JCR nut strips, and given it a slight tune up with Accel ignition parts. I have a bunch of other parts waiting to go on before I try to hit some dirt roads in Vermont on Memorial Day weekend.
I learned a lot from my last build which was a never-ending four year project that spiraled out of control. This time around, I know exactly what the finished product should be, so I'm going to work until it's done and then enjoy it every day.

So this is my 1998 cherokee I bought from my stepdad for 700$ when my last vehicle was stolen. He bought it new off the showroom. It was originally 2wd and I converted it to 4x4 with a donor vehicle and a lot of work. I've owned it for about 4 years now and its taken me from south florida to austin, tx a few times and has been a pretty great vehicle. Back in feb. it dropped a trans and recently got it back on the road. I haven't really been able to take it wheeling or anything because It's had some issues that I've been trying to work out to make it reliable. Such as the trans going out on it.
She's basically a stock 4x4 now but my future plans for it are:
4.5'' lift
sye
4.10 gears
lockers
bumpers
upgraded steering
fender flares
new headliner
new seats
My previous xj had a 6.5'' lift and 35's and that was a bit much for what I want or need. We've owned this jeep since it was new so I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. I hope to take it to jeep beach one day, and go on a good few road trips with it. See ya'll out there!
