anyone have an issue with lift shackle being too wide? the bushing is too wide (3") and won't fit in the brackets. should I just trim them down?

i had ones that were ment for a chevy/dodge. i just took them to my bench mounted grinder and grinded them down till the fit, i did grind a little bit more off so that it was easy to slip them in and out of the boxes.
