Chrome powdercoat has come a long way over the years.... look into it. If you have a shop local that will do it take a scrap piece of metal into them to get a sample of what it will look like, it should only cost a couple bucks.

How has anyone mounted winches to the winch bumper?

The best way is to get a winch plate, drill 4 holes and your good to go.

Has ne one mounted a winch on his bumpers? Without a damn winch plate? Im upset now because I thought I bought this thing for my winch but now need a winch plate ima try n bi-pass this plate

You can mount a winch without a plate, but the plate makes it easier. The plate also gives you a place to mount your fairlead. For the 40 or so dollars a winch plate costs I'd much rather buy one than not.

Harbor freight has them for $40... if you want name brand you can get them for $50-$60. Google is your friend.

You just need abcheap universal winch plate. You're probably looking for ones that work with specific bumpers. As long a it fits in the winch recess of this bumper and will work with your chosen winch than it will work fine.
