About to have the pre runner bars welded on. What angle should the bars be cut for welding on the bumper? I can guess the rest from there. Need to know soon as I am heading over to the welders shop. Thanks.

Should the bars have been precut to the angles and also cut to fit to each other because they are all flat cut?

The bars do not come pre cut. Different people have different preferences on placement of the bars which would effect the cut angle.

It will cost twice as much to ship the bumper with the pre-runner bars welded on so thats why he does it this way.

Who's XJ is this? I'd like to find out the angles he cut the bars. I know it's at the owners discretion but I really don't want it to come out bad. Planning on leaving soon to get the bars done. Not sure what/if they have the equipment to cut the bars or slice the proper angles and since I do not have the bumper mounted I kind of need to know what the best angle would be that would not inhibit working on the headlights.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's customizer1000's XJ.

I believe that was a custom bumper until it got this popular and Chris started producing it. I got one sitting in my garage too

The best way to do it is cut all the ends of the bars at a 40deg on the main bar when you cut It turn one side down and the orhers side up so your cutting 2 angles in one cut that's so it well angle forward some.

Well hears how it came out after eyeballing it. My one concern with the way it was welded is the end bars. Think they might touch the body?

This is the textured powered coat I am going to have put on the bumper.

Forgot to take a picture of the end result but this is close enough.

To install the bumper I just have to take off the current one and fog lights and use the same bolts as whats on the XJ already, right?
