I'd rather have one that mounted into the factory roof rack rails rather than something that gets bolted to the fender, loops around along the top of the windshield then back down. That bar/loop would be another thing to attract trees when trying to maneuver around tight woods(already clipped of a set off mirrors). I would think it would be a nuisance to look around as well.
If you build a mount that ties into the factory roof rack, it wont over hang outside the body, would be more protected from the trees, and more stream line for less wind resistance going down the road. Have you built/road tested your idea?
Something like this!
Why not just bolt the LED light bar under neath the roof rack rail? Pick up an extra rail from the junkyard, and slide it to the front, attach the light bar to the underneath of it and call it a day. Not to rag on your idea or anything,...

No offense taken, but we already have that on our roof rack we build. We want to be different than whats out there. Not every one wants a roof rack, and you really cant see it from inside. And road tested yes abused for a while check. I guess it must be a west cost thing. Thank you for your input
