Id be intrested to see how much better the trailhawks will be once the bugs are cleared up. just like any new car thats on the edge inovation and application bugs will happen.
look at the xj for example jeep was making full size suvs when they put out this unibody four link fuel injected station wagon on straight axles i wounder how many heads would have been spinning on the forums had they be here back then.
pitting the weak little up country xj up against it older brothers. due I want to see a kl vs xj test heck yes as much as i like seeing comparisan of the new vs old.

The local Chrysler dealership just had an ad on tv for their year end sale. The best part was when they got to the 2014 Cherokee and showed video of a JK off roading....

Like someone stated before, this is what Jeep is going to, so we need to adapt and overcome their 'European' engineering. It would probably be easier if the transmission was not a side mount; but I'm guessing it will be similar to the already destroyed Patriot and Compass.

Just jumpin in now. I havent done that much research but I think the best thing about the xj compared to the kl or whatever its called is the simplicity of it. You can fix almost anything on a trail in a xj. Where as the kl... shoot I dont even want to get into all that. But like everyone has stated, nobody knows what is up with the kl. Too little of time. Give it a year or 2. Shoot maybe the 2015 will have some american lookin headlights on it and the majority of you will want one.

I would agree with that and add another advantage of the XJ is that even a base model 4X4 XJ is relatively capable off-road (especially with decent AT/MT tires). With the he KL on the other hand the "Trail-Hawk" is capable off-road (likely at least as much as a stock XJ) but at $30k+, the Latitude/Limited with ADII and "off-road suspension" have some basic off-road capability but are still $28k+, the off-road capability of a base Sport with ADI or a Latitude/Limited with ADI is pretty much limited to speed bumps in the mall parking lot or a gravel road (or maybe a well maintained dirt road), these vehicles would have a lot of difficulty on a fire-road, logging-road, or other dirt road that sees little to no maintenance, and forget about "trails".

It is a separate trim. The trims for the KL are: Sport(base), Latitude (the lowest trim that you can get a V6 or ADII on), Limited (the "Luxury" trim), and Trail-Hawk (the "off-road" trim). The Trail-Hawk gets you skid plates, 1" lift, A/T tires (which add an additional aprox. 1" in height, for a total ground clearance of 8.7") , tow hooks, a locking rear diff, Active-Drive-Lock (ADII with a locking rear-diff), different front/rear fascias that improve approach and departure angles, and a few cosmetic changes (I'm not a fan of the KL's looks but the Trail-Hawk does look better than the other trims). The Trail-Hawk starts at $30k with a 4-cyl or $32k with a V6, and can get up to over $40k when fully loaded (a loaded V6 4X4 Limited is also close to $40k but with more "Luxury" features and less off-road capability).

From what I remember is that you never really take delivery of it to take home. It stays at Ferrari and they deliver it to your track events worldwide whenever you want them to along with a whole crew of technicians.
