Hello All,

New to Cherokee Forum but already see what a great resource it will be.

Last night I was driving my 1990 XJ on the highway at about 60 mph and a taxi cut me off so I tried to use my horn and my dash lights and radio flickered and there was no horn. (I recently took my doors off but more recently put them back on. I only reconnected the power window wires.) I thought that was strange so I tried it again and my engine died on the spot. I purchased the XJ in January of this year and have had only minor routine repairs. I have limited auto mechanic skills but am certainly mechanical and am eager to solve the problem myself. Before get under the hood I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and can get me started on the right path. As of right now, 24 hours later, the head lights turn on and battery seems good but nothing when the key is turned. No dash lights, no gauges, no clicks, nothing. I checked all the fuses under the dash and nothing obvious but don't know what to look for under the hood.

Any advice or opinions are valuable at this point.
