I wouldn't think any more or less than any other suspension. You would want an SYE in your budget though for sure...

Don't see why not drop shackles and spacers . Kit should have enough extra adjustment to cover it.

Looks like theres shims there and drop shackles are gonna pitch up the rear yoke some also. On newer xjs 4.5 like a gray area some get vibes some dont.

That's kind of what I figured. I can't see an inch blowing anything out on a lift. Especially one of that quality. I just bought my 98 XJ and it has some kind of 2" lift and 30" tires. It's been very well maintained. The guy gave me receipt for a lot of stuff. It looks like it has a regular SYE but the receipt said hack and tap. I've installed an SYE before but I don't know what a hack and tap would look like. Either way, I have a CV style shaft. I may order that kit soon. Anyway thatnks for the advice. Highjack over.

Just put spacers in the front. The OME CS033RB full leaf packs will give you closer to 4.5" of total lift by themselves. They are built to handle a heavy rear bumper/tire carrier, towing or hauling a bunch of gear. I removed a leaf because of this reason.

The shims I added, they didn't come with the kit, just to clarify.

Better to have any way. Unless your packs have them all ready.

I am on leave for the next 2 weeks so I'm gonna take my time with the install. Paint my axles, spray undercoating everywhere, do a thorough cleaning etc. So probably by Tuesday or Wednesday I imagine.

I am keeping the 30" tires I have for now. I will be sure and take before and after pics.

Wow the IRO parts I got today really put the icing on this kit. Gotta love Zinc plating.
-Heavy Duty U-bolt plates
-Heavy Duty front spring retainers
-Solid steel 4 degree shims
-Hack and Tap SYE

I am going to return the RE SYE and BDS shims tomorrow.

its so pretty isn't it?

I hope the zinc plating holds up really well. you can just look and see that there is something special under there. Tomorrow will be my first off road trip with it, so will have to report in my build thread.

I didn't know Metalcloak made XJ lifts either. Installing that hack n tap sye was the scariest thing I've done to my XJ. I did break a drill bit off in the shaft which is what I was dreading so buy some high quality bits.

Sure is. Good luck on the off road trip.

Not many people do. I'm hoping the Milwaukee Black oxide bits will hold up, plus I'll be using thread cutting oil during the drill and the tap.

Tell me when you install your sway bar disconnects. I don't think mine are correct despite following the instructions as closely as I can.
