I installed a RE 3.5 super ride, got it for $580 without shocks. I know you don't wanna spend a fortune, but I've heard some rough country lifts tend to sag sometime in the future. You get what you pay for, mine is still sitting at 4-4.5"

I've also heard a spring leaf from a chevy S-10 can get you some lift. There's all kinds of combinations out there, reasearch it. If its not level, get some coil spacers at a bargain price.

Can't run the risk of running stock ones when i have 176,000 miles on my XJ.
You're welcome!
Longer brake lines of anysort are definitely a good idea.
The extra down travel will max the stockers out.

i want to do the cheapest possible 2" front so thinking just 2" spacers along with them what else will i need for the front
want 3" back thinking of s10 bastard pack
any easy cheap ideas would be good but this is my thought
will be used for towing at times hence the extra 1" in back also for winching small trees at home for firewood in the mud so want to be able to put 31s on
Dont want to have to add or modify a bunch of extra parts the less the better (i do have most tools and a welder on hand just never lifted a vehicle so dont know what im in for) just want fast cheap and easy no idea what im doing but i will figure it out

Do a budget boost. Get 2" pucks for the front and depending on the condition of your leaf packs you can either use a lift shackle, or build a bastard pack. Don't forget about longer shocks, JK factory shocks should work fine for that amount of lift they can usually be had for cheap on CL. Also if you want to run 31's you may have to do some minor trimming.

Default Sye on a 3.5 inch lift on 98 Cherokee SE???

So I'm getting ready to lift my Cherokee but concerned about either getting a TC drop or an sye I have the np242 and found an sye kit for like 400$$ before I drop the cash I wanna know if it's worth it. Or is the TC drop just fine and of course longer brake lines. I'm looking at RE 3.5 lift kit. Now if I do get the sye what else would I need? Would I need a rear ds, would I need a new bring as well? I also know I would need cv's. Thanks for the help

TC drop is a band-aid that will cause added strain to your motor mounts.

Do it right and get the SYE... If you go with the Tom Woods kit, you get a replacement output shaft and a Tom Woods Double Cardan driveshaft.

Default 3 inch front 2.5 on back

What's the biggest tire I can fit without any modifications (trimming) on an 87 stock xj with 3 inch front and 2.5 inch rear lift?

Possibly 31's depending on wheel backspacing. You still may get a little rub at full lock, and full flex.

Why would you only do 2.5 in the rear? Going for the bro squat look or what?

couldn't find the 3 inch one there, I wanted 3 inch front and back but the kit was 3 inch front and 2.5 back. So I settled and will buy get 3 inch lifting blocks later for the back

You don't want to do that. Lift blocks work for full size trucks, but they don't play nicely with XJ suspension

what would be the best way to get 3inches on the back then? Would the blocks work for the front or no?

You can use coil spacers for the front, but you'll want new least springs for the rear. If you don't want to buy brand new packs, look into building a "bastard pack" with some leaf springs from a different vehicle. The most common donors are S10s and Dakotas, but there are numerous options

Is this what the lift kit had listed or an actual measurement from the center of the wheel hub to the bottom of the stock flares?

17.5" front and 17" rear is stock, so at 3" you would have 20.5" front and 20" rear.

For extra lift at the rear you could just longer shackles.
