Thank you sir!!! I will add that to my Bushings project. Jeep owners (lame by comparison) like me have no idea how hard it is to pick the right bushings until they start searching for kits like I am doing now.

Like considering shocks! I wanted, and was dead-set on, Monroe shocks with the police package. When I threw that out to some people, they said "WHAT??" and recommended RANCHO shocks. Great! Until you look at the PDF Rock Auto puts out about considerations.... "If you have this, you need that, and if you have that, you need this." WHAT?

The main problem here folks is that not only is my baby in my sites for upgrade and restoration, she's also what gets me back and forth to work and the places we like to go. If I had the truck I want, I could take my beloved Jeep apart in my garage and deal with these issues on my vacant tasked Sundays and Wednesdays. But I'm just a blue-collar worker, with a wife and kids, and two cars to get us back and forth to our places of employment. I cannot have her (my Jeep) down for too long. I wish I could.

Sorry for the long-winded clarification of my sorry-*** restoration conditions.

Keep them coming people. You have NO IDEA how helpful all this information is!!!! I so appreciate it! And your tolerance for my Jeep hardware noobness.

More stupid naive questions are coming. Already put a lot out and still no flamers. This is absolutely the best Jeep Cherokee forum out there!!! This lack of slamming/flaming is what gives a new guy like me courage to post stupid, obvious questions. And if I step on toes or not observe some forum etiquette rule, let me know and I will correct.

WHEW! Sorry for the long-winded post. I'm just happy as hell that I am getting all this seasoned-veteran info when I really expected HIGH-KNOWLEDGED-SLAMMING from experts with low tolerance for noobs. What an amazing response I have got so far. I wish all you dudes were my neighbors!!!

Alright, enough of all this "I LOVE YOU MAN!" crap. Next post is a serious issue that has plagued me for a couple of years. It certainly applies to my restoration quest. I have no clue what I am doing with this issue. More to come.

And thank you all again!!!!!

I have no blower for my heat or air conditioning. Actually, doesn't matter about the heat yet. Read up in this thread. I suspect the heater core and those fixes will be tried soon.

The compressor works fine. I get cold air if I open up incoming air to the blower and driving 70+ MPH. LOL

The blower last year would quit. I would jiggle the connector to the blower and it would come on. Late last summer (I live in Arizona so you can understand), the blower finally quit, and no jiggling would turn it back on.

I suspected a short that might have fried the 40a fuse (in the fuse array under the hood, covered by a long plastic cover). It's fine. So I suspected my new resistor array module. It's new, but get this, the connector shows signs of melting. So it is either the blower, or the connection TOO the blower.

I cannot for the life of me get that ^@*#&%!@ connector off the blower. I know, Jeep connectors have all this "slide this, pull this, take this off" crap but I worry about forcing the connector because I have no idea the procedure for that. Yeah... youtube, forum, and even email searches have provided nothing.

My first thoughts were... ok, take the effer out, run 12vdc to it from the battery and test if the blower even runs. Without getting that connector off though, I have no idea how to proceed.

Seriously, I'll run straight from the battery using a high-amp switch to manually turn that effing blower on if I have to. I would rather have it right with the dash controls though.

Any thoughts?

Thank you, ALL of you, for your time and efforts!!!

EDIT: If a pic of that blower with the connector will help, let me know. I'll post it.

Also, pics are coming of my failing clear coat. Is it save-able? Who knows. You guys look at it and give me your thoughts. Coming in a few minutes. The BLOWER issue is more important. I will need that air conditioning in a few weeks or weight loss will be achieved the hard way. lol

OK, images for the two recent issues I posted in this thread. First on is of the blower connector. The second one is of my failing clear coat. ... to add an image to my posted questions. Like I stated before, I prefer LIFE over BEAUTY! lol. The clear coat issue matters, but I would rather have air, and that is a priority.

Here is a pic of my blower. The red framed call out is a close up of the connector.

My failing clear coat. This almost completely disappears when it rains. Will waxing help? As a short fix? I plan to strip her to her bones and have Maaco (maybe) repaint her with the original flecked forest green.

My clear coat disappeared as well. If you take a chamois to it when it's wet do you get black paint transfer? If not, then wax will help. DON'T buff. Buffing will take off more clear coat. (Used to work at a detail shop.) If you do get paint transfer then your best bet it to sand and repaint. There is no clear coat here to save. You might be able to add a clear coat over what you have, since it doesn't look too bad, but I'm not sure how that would turn out if rattle-canned.

I have the green and some pictures up of what my paint looked like. It's a LOT of work, but I sanded the whole thing and prepped it for paint. Then we took off bumpers, broken windshield, lights, grill and door handles, then towed it down to the local Macco. Cost about 1k. They sprayed it with a metallic green with a flattening agent added. Way worth the work. I'm now getting some tiny paint chips where the dogs get in and out every day, but I think I'm going to but a black strip of POR15 then textured engine paint along the bottom of my doors. Pictures of everything up on my profile.

Good Luck! My paint was the last "big thing" I did since I wanted everything to be mechanically sound...and it wasn't going to get any worse. Now I'm on to expensive lights and other big things. lol

No offense intended. And that is really nice work and great info. Nice pics! Thank you! I will try what you suggested. If I can halt the perma-snow issue for a year or two, that would be good enough for me. Should be enough time to get my other issues fixed.
