So today I just bought a 2kxj and I unscrewed the gas cap for the first time and notice a small leaf as well as a small dead beatle inside where the nozel goes. I could barely reach it with my fingertips. Being the schmuck I am while trying to get it out it dropped down all the way. Is that little guy and his little leaf friend gonna wreck any havoc? Or will the 20 gallons on 93 premium disolve him and he'll get sent thru the ol straight 6? Again this was probably the dumbest question ever asked.

It'll probably just float in the gas tank a while. Eventually it may get sucked up by the fuel pump, but hopefully by then it will be mushy enough to just get stuck in the fuel filter. Any bug juices will just burn through the engine. That is just what my guess is.

I've heard a lot dumber, don't worry. And I haven't been here a while (maybe I've been lurking longer) but I've heard some really dumb things. I'll see if I can think of any.

Geez, I was hoping for better than that!!

Welcome, and there's a screen before the internal tank pump.

Is there an anti syphon screen or whatever in the filler tube on the 2000 XJs?

Yeah inside your gas tank on the fuel pump is a small filter/screen it will stop the bug from getting sucked up.

Jeeps come with lots of "bugs" from the factory so one more won't hurt.

Just leaf it alone and don't strain yourself over it.
