Default 2 door vs. 4 door??

2 door vs. 4 door??

Wheel base? Same? Seems all the info says it is..

Does that mean that if I use the same motor/trany/t-case I can use a 4 door rear drive shaft?

Yep....

Wheelbase is the same, only difference is in the body. 2 door doors are longer than the 4 door and MJ doors so it looks like the wheelbase is shorter, but it's not.

Driveshaft...yes. As long as it's the same rear axle (pinion length).

Wheelbase/track = same-same.
Most interior parts (seats, headliner, IP, centre console) = same-same (some exceptions, primarily that 4-door seats don't "tumble," while 2-door seats do. They will otherwise swap handily - I have four-door seats in my 88 two-door...)
Drivetrain parts = same-same.
Control Electronics = same-same (within year/make/powertrain options.)

And no, I still don't have a tentative date for Swappology yet. So, I keep answering questions until the book get past "reasearch" and into "writing"...

Most interior parts dont work perfectly. Almost all of the plastic trim does not work and door panels are different too. As mentioned front seats dont swap out perfectly but not a huge deal. Dash, Center Console, Rear seat, Carpet, headliner, and a few other misc parts do swap out. Also I think there was a difference with the fuel pump lines as I read on another post a long time ago.

See I've been building my 2 door and using a 4 door as a donor. Thought I'd have a issue finding a rear driveshaft till I realized they had the same wheel base..

Just seemed odd cause I had always thought 2 door was shorter..

No, It would of cost the manufacturers too much. (In Assembly line changes) To shorten the wheel base just because of the 2 door/4 door option.

I had a four door until Chrysler decided to take it back and give me a two door that I wanted. I found that because of the same wheelbase, that the four doors were a little tight to enter and exit. So essentially I lost two doors and gained two backseat cupholders. If I remember correctly the two-door Cherokee of the same trim level was also significantly less expensive to purchase. I don't have kids so no one ever sits in that scrawny (no offense intended) back seat. And fortunately, I haven't experienced any large door sagging due to worn hinges (yet).
