Roni's Rogue4x4 Build...finally!

No, I don't lick fish.
lol... just based on the few yard jockeys I've seen shucking trailers, I was under the assumption that they all drove like that
Nice man! Big David doesn't disappoint!
So, we folks in SoCal are going through a heatwave right now. So I got up at 4:30, and was out in the garage by 5:30. Here's what I got done before I couldn't take it anymore. Let me add that our house AC took a **** yesterday, had a tech come out who "fixed" the problem...well, for a bit. Bad capacitor/relay, replaced, but now the compressor wont kick on regardless. He's coming back today, but for now, the house is HOT, but better than being outside in the sun, right?
So, busted out the parts from the kit I got from Big David. Kudos to him and a BIG shout out out to him...this kit is complete, to be sure...if you've been on the fence about this mod, don't hesitate to get the kit from him! Not only is it more than complete, it got here FAST...had it 2 days after I paid for it. Everything you need is there short of pads, shoes, and rotors, which you SHOULD replace anyways, and depending on your year and setup, parking brake cables...I ordered the passenger side cable from a Liberty, should be here in a few days, and is not necessary to finish the axle, it can be done after it's stuffed. Anyways, I digress, on to the pics:
Pulled out the calipers and got them cleaned and prepped...did the same with the backing plates.

The pad guides on the backing plates had some grooves worn in them...same happens on the fronts, but, no worries...break out the welder, fill it in. Grind down. Polish out with a flap wheel.

Then broke out the burr tool and ground the axle tube centers out, and fit checked them...all is good...

...took pics of the setup for re-assembly (didn't need it, but better safe than sorry, right?), then removed the hardware for painting...

Here's what I used...high heat primer and paint...also laid out the components on the hood as they came off, to assist in re-assembly...and after looking at this picture, I have decided after all this is done, I'm gonna re-paint the hood...looks like hell.

Got some penetrant on the wheel studs for removal...

Then took a pit stop...gonna try to get out there later, once the sun starts to go down, try to get the wheel studs out and new ones in...may roll into tomorrow...we'll see. I'd really like to have the brake stuff done, and the axle stuffed by end of day tomorrow, but I have learned to not set lofty goals with this, LOL...never seems to work out. One can dream, though, right? HAHA

Got after it early again today...
Got the wheel studs out, and replacements in...
Axles, c-clips, crosspin reinstalled...
rotors and calipers installed...
Put the new TF SS extended junction block/brake line on...
...then put the diff cover back on...
...now THAT is one SEXY axle, LOL
Called it a day. Out at 5:30, in at 10...and sweating like crazy. So flipping hot. No AC in the house until Tuesday at the latest, so think I'm gonna go shower, buy a kiddie pool, and soak with some cold beers, LOL
I think I'll save stuffing the axle for next weekend. Gonna be a crazy week at work, stupid ****ing hot, and I need a break this week. Besides, after next week, payday will be here...gonna just get some 5100's with that check. Closing the gap on road-worthiness...
