hate these dumb brakets
Project Scarlett: taking my time and doing it right the first time-2015-05-27-12.14.56.jpg

so far on the road its almost eerily smooth other than some resonation im getting from somewhere. will flex it out sometime this week since ive finaly got 4x4 back

next up is the wj swap witch consists of:

-99 wj knuckles with jks 1/4 spacers
-go-fer-it jeep taper flip serst to be welded in
-akebono capilers courtesy of bigdavid
-new rotors and unit bearings
-jks FAB tie-rod and drag link with JY wj TRE's and energy suspension dust boots
flat pitman arm
"stock" IRO track ba
jks high clearance sway bar mountsf

using the flat pit man arm i should be able to be pretty darn close to paralell to the iro trac bar. may be in the future ill go to a OTA track bar if this set up gives me an issue but im not expecting it to other than a hair of bump steer

after that ill mostly be stockpiling parts for the 5.3 im hoping to have that done by this time next year and running reliably

Last time I tried to put u joints in my current shots the hub nut was seized up to the bearing so I figured it'd be good to just pull the whole assemble and put in "new shafts" with new joints and the new hubs I need for the swap.

Mocked up every thing today. Everything fits I just need to make some 1/4 spacers for the calipers. I'll grab some 1/4 plate and a hole saw next week and make one

Also got the knuckles drilled out and the flipserts welded in. Will paid to them later this week since I have to leave them at my mom's while they continue to cool

Also got a flat pitman arm from 94xjsport94 on the way. Should have that in a couple days

update time!

got some harded washers from lowes to space the calipers out a 1/4" to account for the 1/4" hub spacers

got a flat pitman arm from 94xjsport94, have to drill it out to 3/4" and weld in a flip sert since its tapered for a 1 ton TRE. gonne weld it in "upsidedown" so the tapers going in the right direction.

got the 760's put in my JY shafts today. the origional u joints did not want to come out. took me 4 hours instead of the 1 i thought it was going to take me. but its all done now, its a good thing i didnt need the reluctor ring...

ordered a set of cadillac 4 tone horns off thatxjguy just cause i think it will be nifty

took my first tangible step towards swapping in the 5.3L..ordered the engine mounts and the headers! next i will order the advanced adapters 4l60E to NP231 adapter. after much research i have decided the expense will be worth the time i save trying to build a hybrid s10/jeep case. plus the vss will be in front of the case avoiding 4L shifting issues and i will easily be able to retain the jeep vss to run the speedo i will probably upgrade my 231 with the s10 6 pinion planetary and wide chain..ive got to pull the case apart anyways

once i start the swap im going to start a seprate thread just for v8 stuff so the knowledge is easily attainable for anyone looking for it

my 5.3 mounts and headers were delivered today my leasing office closed early today so i couldnt grab them so ill grab them in the morning. i also ordered my radiator today. its a 19x22 all aluminum unit for chevy v8's. with a little massaging it should fit nicely between the steering box and the passenger frame. screw buying the 600$ novak radiator.

also changed my oil and found the source of my nasty squeak. its coming from the right rear brake pads. ill pop the tire of..soon and see why its moving around so much
