It doesn't take too long to do.. And yes you can reuse the stock flares but you'll need to do some things to attach them. They won't just bolt back up...

So picked up some assorted things today. Got new liftgate shocks/struts thingies (one was defective), new weather stripping, new front and rear wiper blades and wiper fluid, browning steering wheel cover (exchanging for a mossy oak one), a deer in crosshairs badging (will ost pics tomorrow), and some febreeze! $105 in total, yay. haha

Well the liftgate supports i got at autozone sucked, so i said screw it and went to advanced auto. Cost me $15 more, hopefully these work better! Will see after school.

Also, i decided i'm gonna get this thing painted. I love white XJs, but i want something different. I'm torn between rescue green and yellow. Opinions?

Ever get that starting issue figured out? My XJ does the same thing every 3-5 months due to corrosion on the battery cables. I will go to start it one day and it will just click or do nothing, so now I just pop the hook, clean the cables, tighten everything up, and it fires right up. It's worth a shot, I would trace your entire cables to be sure the coating is not rubbed off in spots, that would allow that green crap to build up which will greatly reduce the juice flowing from your battery to your starter. On the door issue, it is your door check as the call it. My XJ also had that issue. Only place I could get one was from Jeep (Napa can't get one) and had to pay $78 for it. You mentioned your windshield wipers had no power, do they have any slop in the travel? Meaning when you shut them off do they rest where they should or 1/3rd of the way up the windshield? Can they be moved 5-7" by hand? If so you will likely need new windshield wiper bushings ($13 @ Napa). They are very easy to replace, just be sure to reassemble the linkage properly, otherwise it will not fit when you go to put it back in, my first time it took me over an hour to realize the linkage on the left side was on backwards.

Yeah, i tried cleaning the cables and terminals, still nothing. Traced all the cables and everything was right where it should be, so everything is pointing to the alternator, so i ordered a new one. As for the door check, i still have mine, but it just came out of place. How hard is it to put it back in? And about the wipers, i replaced all the wiper blades, but my battery is drained (need to go charge it) so i dont know if that fixed it. But, if it didn't i'll be sure to go get some new wiper bushings. thanks for all the advice man! I appreciate it!

Got the battery charged up and checked the wipers, they're wiping smooth as ever with the new wiper blades Also, the main bearing set should be coming in today, so hopefully that will fix the knock in the motor!

I second what was said about the battery terminals. For whatever reason my 95 does the same thing. Every 5/6 months it builds corrosion and I have to clean or replace the terminals. I even coated them and everything. Usually when that happens you'll get the clicks but if you go out and move the terminals to the right spot you'll get a good enough connection to get her to turn over.

If your not sure on color you should definitely plasti dip the whole jeep. You could have a different color every week!

Haha that would be awesome! Keep it fresh! Haha, but i decided on superman blue for the color.

So i bought a 2" bb lift, and went to put on the coil spacers and couldn't get the dang bumpstops off a little help?
Also, my great uncle might be hooking me up with some 31" shoes, not sure what kind, buts its free tires! And im also getting a free jack and set of 2 jack stands! Its raining free stuff!
Talked awhile to the dude i bought the lift from ($75 on craigslist, by the way) and hes a really chill dude, used to have a cherokee on 35's, and got another one he was gonna put the 2" lift i bought from him on, but now its stock and his daughters, and he has a lot of extra parts he said he could sell me when i need them, if his daughter doesn't need them, so now i got them hook ups!

Be careful! And I'm pretty sure the bumpstops screw off. But if they are like mine they will crumble into pieces before you can get them out lol.

Haha tell me about it, the jacks collapsed twice on my stepdad when we tried to get the tire back on...im gonna wait until i get the alernator installed so i can move the jeep to a flatter part of my yard, and plus im gettings jack stands tomorrow, so those will help! But if they crumble, do i just buy new ones?
