Default Help with rebuild/new motor

So i had another shop look at the heep today and the back two cylinders have no compression. He said there was coolant leaking into the oil(found slime on the PCV valve). Leading to camshaft bearings seizing and breaking the camshaft. This explains how it was running, and i'm really bummed. But it happens.

So to the point, I am in need of a used 4.0 (under 100,000 miles) or info on a rebuild of a 4.0 or a stroked 4.0

Thanks for any help folks

That first one is a heck of a deal. You could probably build one cheaper but is it worth the headache to you? Or you could just buy a used one for a couple c-notes.

You should take advantage of the eBay engine for less than $500 plus shipping and it carries a warranty.

How much are you wanting to spend? Reason I ask is I just bought a motor from http://citymotorsupply.com/ on the recommendation of a a good friend who has used them for some time..Anyways shipped to my friends shop was just over $900 plus $235 core (which you get back once your core is returned and cleared as usable). Anyways take a look at their catalog as the cost might not be much more then a used motor..Around here a used under 100k motor was around $500 to $600 and that was just a 60 day guarantee...

The cracks on the 2000, 01 heads generally happen between the #3 & 4 cylinders. pull the head and inspect the areas combustion chamber. If you're losing coolant into the crankcase the crack will be into the oil return passage.

Interested in a stroker, then start here:
