Default Dana 44 Cost

Does anyone know the rough cost for a Dana 44 complete axle? I found one for $350 but it just seems like too much $$. if you have one what did you end up paying for yours? is 350 too much? Thanks,

Andrew

You didn't specify front or rear.
My rear dana 44 was out of an 89 Cherokee ($350) someone took it out and:
- painted the housing
- installed a Lockright locker by Richmond Gear
- There were no brakes on it
Just got a good deal from a guy that started it and never installed it.

Front Dana 44 rubicon ($2480 shipped) from Missouri 4x4 Supply with:
- Auburn Ected locker
- Yukon 4.56s
- Superior Cromo shafts

$350 is not a bad price if it is out of an xj,direct bolt in and it is all there and in good shape.

Yes that is a good deal,I paid $180 for mine, but it has alot more mileage on it and it was in a junk yard which is rare too find them there. I see them range from $300 to $500 stock if it is being sold by an individual.

Are the Waggy 44s the same width as cherokees? For some reason I feel like I measured one and it was narrower?

They are all rusted out junk but the axles should be fine still.

$350 - $400 is about the going rate on a private party sale D44. They can be found at the JY, but good luck.

That's why I went w/a 8.8. $99 at JY and plenty of them. Spent another $100 on parts, welding, etc. Not really bolt on, but 4:10 ratio,... stronger than a 44. Oh and ummm... let's seee.... oh yeah, disc brakes too.
