'96 XJ Wont Start!
I was out wheeling with my friend yesterday when the engine in my jeep (4.0L High Output) decided to quit on me mid drive. It cranks over all day but wont start up. We towed it back to my house and I replaced the cap and rotor, plug wires, and the plugs themselves, still wont start. I can clearly hear the fuel pump working when I turn the key as well. Anything I may have missed? Thanks.

Try to determine if the injectors are firing. You can use a test light on the harness, or a stethoscope to listen to the injector. If the injectors are not firing then the computer has lost timing reference, which is one of (a) crank sensor, (b) cam sensor in the distributor, (c) ASD relay, or (d) ECM itself. If the injectors are firing, then the problem is something else, check for fuel pressure and spark.

Sorry forgot to update. All is good now she's fixed. I replaced the ignition coil which had a big crack in it and then a blown fuse.
